7-Eleven Launches Franchise Contest for Veterans

Ever thought of owning your own business? For another lucky veteran, 7-Eleven is going to make that dream come true.

7-Eleven is launching its second annual “Operation Take Command” contest. The grand price? One veteran will receive a 7-Eleven franchise, valued at up to $190,000.

Qualified applicants must be 21 or older, an honorably discharged veteran,  and a US citizen or permanent resident. Applicants must also demonstrate excellent credit and at least three years of experience in leadership or the retail or restaurant industries.

If you’re interested in entering the contest, be prepared to set yourself apart: last year there were more than 6,000 applicants. 7-Eleven is accepting applications until February 26. The top 25 entrants will submit a video to support their application. From the video entries, up to seven people will be chosen. Those seven semifinalists will compete through a Facebook vote hosted on 7-Eleven’s page where voters will choose the three finalists to be interviewed at corporate headquarters.
