Take advantage of these 10 amusement park military discounts this summer

Summer is almost here and that means plenty of opportunities to get out and plan a family vacation. What could be more fun than to plan a trip to an amusement park?

1. Armed Forces Salute at Disneyland and Walt Disney World

The Armed Forces Salute is a fabulous deal for Disney fans. At Disneyland, you would pay $156 for three-day Park Hopper tickets or a four-day for $181. You can also get the Disney PhotoPass collection for just $49. Tickets are good until December 19, 2017 and you need to purchase them by December 16.

At Disney World, you can pay $209 for a four-day Park Hopper, $224 for a five-day, and add the water park for $37. You can then purchase the Memory Maker for $84. You will need to use these by December 19, 2017 and purchase them by December 15.

The tickets for Disneyland and Walt Disney World need to be purchased through your local MWR or at the gate by the military member or spouse. . . but not both. You can buy up to six tickets with this deal and they can be used for friends and other family members.

2. Knott’s Berry Farm

Knott’s Berry Farm in Southern California offers free tickets during a certain time of year. Last year it was in November. otherwise, you can enjoy the military discount. While they are $48 for adults and $45 for children at the gate with a valid military ID, you can save even more by purchasing online for $43 or at your local MWR; ours has them for $40.

3. Universal Studios

Get your Universal Studios Hollywood tickets through your local MWR/ITT. They should be around $96-105 for adults and $86.75-99 for children. You will be able to receive $3 off the ticket price at the gate.

At the MWR/ITT, buy one- to five-day single park tickets for $131.50 for adults and $126. 25 for children Universal Studios Florida, at your local MWR/ITT. They also offer two-park and three-park tickets which would include Islands of Adventure and Volcano Bay (opening May 25.)

4, 5, & 6. Sea World, Busch Gardens, Sesame Place

The Waves of Honor program allows for one complimentary ticket for the service member and up to three dependent tickets per year to Sea World Parks, Busch Gardens, or Sesame Place. The service member must register to verify military status. Families can also purchase additional tickets through the MWR.

7. Legoland

Legoland California offers 10% off at the ticket booth. You can also buy discounted tickets online. Right now they are offering a three-day pass for $82 for a child or an adult and a one-day pass for $62.99.

Legoland Florida offers one free ticket for the service member and discounted tickets for family and friends. You can get a two-day, 2nd-day free ticket at MWR for around $58.50 for either adult or child.

8. Six Flags

Check with your local MWR for Six Flags tickets. They should be between $40-50 for children and adults which is about 20% off the regular ticket cost.

9. Kentucky Kingdom

Kentucky Kingdom, located in Louisville, KY, has an amazing deal of $29.95 per ticket. You can buy up to four tickets per military ID. They are also offering a military special the weekend of May 26 to 29: $15 at the gate or $13 at Fort Campbell or Fort Knox in advance. You can purchase up to six of these tickets.

10. Dollywood

Dollywood, in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, offers a 30% off military discount. The tickets will be $46.90 for adults and $37.80 for children. You can also buy tickets to the waterpark for $33.60 for adults and $30.10 for children. Buy your tickets at the front gate.

These tickets are valid for all branches and military services, including the Reserve and National Guard. Make sure to verify the tickets before you make plans as discounts can change during the year.
