The military spouse community often gets a bad rap for drama. Yes, there is some truth to it–especially online where tone-deaf comments can spiral out of control into typed shouting matches and mean-girl behavior. But there’s also truth in this: Military spouse friendships can be fiercely loyal and lifelong.
Here’s exactly what those friendships can look like:
They know exactly how deployment feels. . . and exactly what you need.
When you know how to perfectly compliment each other.
When you meet for the first time and just click.
When you’re stationed in the same place again. . . finally!
When you know your friendship can endure PCSes, crazy schedules, and frustrating moments.
When you see your friend at a random place–like the commissary or Exchanage.
When you’ve PCSed so many times you’re done with “friend dating” and just cut to the chase.
When you both know exactly what you hate doing, without even talking about it– like that mandatory fun picnic happening in two weeks.
When you finally meet someone awesome. . . and they have to PCS in a month.
The way a girls’ night out always ends.
Whenever you leave each other.
