  1. My mom’s first care package arrived at my unit in Vietnam carefully packed in newspaper. (These were pre-bubblewrap days) I wrote her a thank you including a suggestion to pack it in popcorn next time. She complied and my next thank you included a suggestion to include a small container of salt. “You’re eating the popcorn?” Yes, we ate the popcorn…
