Mentorship Gives Transitioning Veterans a Confidence Boost!

No matter how skilled and experienced a service member is when they leave the military, they are frequently unsure of themselves as they begin their search for civilian employment. Working with a mentor in the Veteran eMentor Program helps the veteran feel far more confident of what they have to offer an employer and how to get hired. In the words of a participating veteran:

“Both personally and professionally the most valuable experience was having my mentor show genuine concern for my future after I retire. After speaking with her we came up with a plan to help assist me in finding a meaningful second career. I am [now] very confident in my chances of successfully transitioning out.”  ~Veteran eMentor Protégé

Please help us match hundreds more veterans with volunteer career mentors. Sign up as a mentor in the program today at www.veteranementor.org ! No military affiliation is required to be a mentor; you just need to be employed in a profession or recently retired with a willingness to assist job-seeking veterans. We urgently need more mentors to serve the large numbers of veterans joining the program as protégés, so tell your colleagues and friends about this opportunity, too. Thank you!

Veteran eMentor serves all veterans regardless of when or how long they served. The program is a partnership of the nonprofits AcademyWomen and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation Hiring our Heroes.
