Military Spouse Employment Partnership Milestone

Military Spouse Employment Partnership

Dr. Jill Biden launched the Military Spouse Employment Partnership on June 29, 2011, to serve spouses from all military services. The partnership is part of the Department of Defense broader Spouse Education and Career Opportunities program, which seeks to reduce the significant unemployment rate and wage gaps between military spouses and their civilian counterparts.

The Military Spouse Employment Partnership is an employment and career partnership connecting military spouses with more than 300 partner employers who have committed to recruit, hire, promote and retain military spouses in portable careers. The partnership includes corporations, small businesses and other organizations that post job openings on the Military Spouse Employment Partnership Career Portal, mentor military spouses and other partner employers and provide employment data on military spouses hired. The Military Spouse Employment Partnership Career Portal features a job search function that allows military spouses to search career opportunities exclusively with partners. Spouses are able to search by job title, city, state or province, postal code and country. To assist with their introduction, spouses are encouraged to self-identify when applying with or contacting these employment partners. For additional information, please visit the Military Spouse Employment Partnership Career Portal or contact a certified Career Counselor at 800-342-9647.
