Sesame Street and the USO are teaming up to bring military families stationed in Europe free performances this fall. The two-month tour will encompass more than 30 shows at 19 installations across the continent. Each show is a 30-minute experience that includes costumed performances of many of Sesame Street’s beloved characters.

Beginning on September 11 at NAS Sigonella, The Sesame Street/USO Experience for Military Families will  will include Katie, a special Muppet designed especially for military kids. A military child herself, she experiences the ups and downs of military life including what happens when families leave the military as well as moving to a new base.

Sesame Street has been partnering with the USO since 2008, making this year the ninth year of the program’s existence. Military families can also take advantage of resources and age-appropriate tools on a special Sesame Street website maintained in partnership with the USO.
